SEEMA THAKORE MELONI, PH.D., M.P.H
Founding Member & Co-Chair, PR & Communications Committee, Indian Community of Needham (ICON)
As a trained epidemiologist and infectious disease scientist, Meloni spent a significant portion of her professional career working at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is an active community member and has utilized her leadership skills in helping to found the Indian Community of Needham (ICON), a secular, nonprofit organization aimed at celebrating and preserving the culture and heritage of India and surrounding South Asian countries.
Meloni also served on the board of the Needham Education Foundation (NEF), served as co-president of the Friends of Needham High School Soccer and co-chairs the Parent Talk semi-annual consignment sale. Her current passion project has been around her work with the Needham school district on behalf of the NEF to collaboratively partner on initiatives to drive forward conversations and training on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
