REGINA WU, M.D.
President, Newton Food Pantry
Wuās role as a primary care physician, treating patients with diabetes, congestive heart failure, and high blood pressure, fueled her mission to help our community live a healthy lifestyle by providing access to healthy, delicious, nutritious and culturally-relevant foods. After attending a mayorās citywide food drive, she shifted focus to support her own community. Over the last 12 years, Wu has served as a Wednesday afternoon volunteer, the pantryās vice president, before assuming the role as president in 2020, and led the development and execution of community-changing initiatives like the freedge, a 24/7 refrigerator & pantry, Newtonās Community Table Event, and the teen ambassador program.
