Patel had always dreamed of leaving his desk job at an asset management firm to own and run a local bar. He made his move by opening Baramor in Newton Centre in 2019, and aligned the core principle of his new business with his own beliefs around giving back and creating positive change in the community. Patel created a permanent charity fundraiser, a draught line called Pull for Charity, a monthly campaign that donates $3 for every pint sold to partnered charities. The neighborhood restaurant is a gathering place for countless community events and fundraisers. While navigating a new business during the COVID pandemic, Patel advocated for the needs of the restaurant community as a whole, organizing and supporting operators, championing outdoor dining and more. He currently serves as chair of the Charles River Chamber’s Dining Collaborative.
