PAULA A. JOHNSON
President, Wellesley College
A pioneer in the fields of academic medicine, public health, and higher education, Johnson brings decades of experience to her role as president at Wellesley College. Under her leadership over the last seven years, Johnson has placed the college at the forefront of STEM education for women. Prior to this role, she served as the Grayce A. Young Family Professor of Medicine in Womenās Health at Harvard Medical School and a professor of epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Health. She founded the Connors Center for Womenās Health and Gender Biology at Brigham and Womenās Hospital.
Johnson holds B.A., M.D., and M.P.H. degrees from Harvard University and has received several honorary degrees and numerous awards for her contributions to science, medicine, and public health. Johnson is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
